The Big Orange Taxi - VNAA Aurora Australis

2015 - The Aurora Australis was an Australian icebreaker launched in 1989 and was regularly chartered by the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) for research in Antarctic waters and to support Australian bases in Antarctica. She was decomissioned in March 2020 to be replaced by the RSV Nuyina in 2021.

In this picture she is held fast in frozen sea ice in Prydz bay approx 1.5km from the wharf of Davis Station during a station resupply.
